As our way of supporting the community, the ECO Learning Center in Cottonwood offers the Natural Health Series every month. All workshops in the Natural Health Series are free and open to the public. Each month will feature a natural health topic such as: Body Weight, Immunity, Healthy Habit Development, etc. Through natural health, a mindful and sustainable world becomes more accessible. Let’s enhance our wellness naturally and Live ECO together!

Why is it important for us to reclaim natural health today?
With advances in science and modern medicine, we should expect an increase in the overall health and wellbeing of our society. However, if we look around and within our own lives, we see very clearly that this is not the case. In 2015 alone, the U.S. spent a record breaking $425 on prescription drugs and the average person spent $10,345 on healthcare. In addition, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women in the United States are expected to be diagnosed with cancer.

Lifestyle Guidance
Your lifestyle matters. It’s not enough to learn random health tips. It’s important to see how each element creates the overall picture in your personal life. More efficient healing patterns can develop through mindful reflection on a healthy lifestyle.
Diet/Nutritional Healing
Food can be medicine—or poison. When we choose to reclaim our health, a nutritious diet is essential to changing our overall mind/body state. Each Natural Healing Workshop will give nutritional tips pertaining to the health topic at hand.
Gut Health
In Gut we trust; with over 300 million to 500 million neurons, your gut is literally your second brain. The gut houses trillions of microorganisms which equates to 75% of our body’s total immunity. In addition, it holds a third of the blood in the body, and produces 90% of serotonin and 50% of the dopamine in your body. This means that your overall feelings of happiness and wellness are literally determined by the condition of your gut. When our gut is healthy, our immune system, digestive system and nervous system are all harmonious, and we experience greater health, happiness and peace.
Exercise Tips
Meridian exercises open up the energy channels in the body to allow more circulation and blood flow. You will experience more strength, vitality, and flexibility.
The average person thinks about 50,000-70,000 thoughts per day. With so many thoughts running through our busy minds, it’s no wonder that most of us experience chronic stress levels. Mindfulness practices draw our attention away from the chatter of the mind and bring our conscious awareness into the present moment. Through mindfulness, we can literally slow down our thinking and focus on creating positive changes. This results in more productivity, a significant stress reduction and self-empowerment. When we are mindful, we can tackle all of our goals from a place of peace and focused intention.

This course will be led by Juniper Yang, ECO’s Director of Education, Certified Health Coach, Mindfulness Instructor, and Program Director of the Revitalizing Detox Retreat at Sedona Mago Retreat. For over 18 years, Juniper has dedicated her life to helping people live healthier and happier lives through lifestyle, mindfulness, diet and exercise.
